💡
Check before you start!
- Duplicate this template into your own Notion first
- You need Zotero 7 or later (Zotero → Settings → check for updates)
- Sync is one-way, Zotero → Notion. Edits made in Notion don't go back to Zotero
</aside>
1. Install the Notero plugin
- Find the dvanoni/notero repository on GitHub and open Releases ( github.com/dvanoni/notero )
- Download the latest .xpi file
- In Zotero's top menu, open Tools → Plugins
- Click the gear icon (top right) → Install Plugin From File and pick the .xpi file
- Restart Zotero
2. Connect Notion
- Open Tools → Notero Preferences
- Click the Notion Connect button → a browser window opens
- Choose the workspace with this template, and in page selection check this template page
- Click Allow access → Open Zotero, and you're connected
3. Pick the database and collections
- In Notero Preferences, set Notion database to Paper Library
- For Page title format, Item Title is recommended
- Check the collections to sync — e.g., create a 'Lab' collection in Zotero and check only that one
4. Test the sync
- Save a paper with the Zotero Connector in Chrome and put it in a checked collection
- If a new row appears in Papers & Resources in Notion a few seconds later, it worked!
